Project Overview

In 2008, OAC was engaged by the Mason County Public Utility District 3 to provide project management services for new facilities to house its administration, engineering, operations, maintenance shops, and warehouse groups.  Because the PUD holds multiple properties at different locations, and since most of its existing buildings are over 50 years old, early on in this engagement the project team focused on project scope definition and whether or not to consolidate functions in a single new campus.  In the latter half of 2009 the project team was authorized to design a new multiple-building centralized campus with estimated construction costs of approximately $34 million.

At OAC’s recommendation, the multiple-building operations center was designed with very high energy efficiency goals and is expected to qualify for LEED Gold certification. In early summer of 2010 the project was put out to public bid and the project was completed in February 2012.

OAC was engaged as Project Manager with duties which include: oversight of construction, project budget management, Owner direct contractor coordination, PUD Commissioner updates, FF&E procurement, and move coordination.
