Project Overview

The new Kenmore City Hall is a 36,930-square-foot facility that includes city council chambers and executive session room, a community meeting room, city administration offices and 37 parking stalls in an underground garage.

As an “essential facility”, the building was designed to a higher seismic performance standard, and includes an emergency power back-up system. Council chambers and the executive session room can function as an emergency operation center. OAC provided project management and commissioning services for the new building, which was completed on-time and under budget.

The City Hall has numerous sustainable features – it was designed up to LEED Gold standards. The site includes pervious pavement, a rain garden, repurposed granite as gathering space, and integrated landscaping. The building was constructed using environmentally friendly practices, including a large amount of recycled materials. A green roof and photovoltaic panel array complete its sustainable focus.
