Project Overview

OAC provided GC/CM advisory services to Fort Vancouver Regional Library (FVRL) on the new Main Library in downtown Vancouver, Washington. The new Main Library consists of approximately 90,000 sq. ft., with four floors and a mezzanine, all above ground.

The new Main Library building is part of a mixed-use private development occupying nearly four acres in the downtown core. The plan includes a civic plaza, retail space, hotel, condominium tower, and office space, all sitting on top of an underground parking garage.

The site was particularly challenging due to coordination of construction and close proximity to the other planned projects. The area did not allow for any lay down or staging space, so all construction materials followed a “just in time” delivery method. Additionally, most deliveries were made during off-hours, or even in the middle of the night, to avoid shut down one of the main thoroughfares through downtown Vancouver.
