Project Overview

OAC provided General Contractor/Construction Management (GC/CM) advisory services to the Fort Vancouver Regional Library (FVRL) to build a new main library in downtown Vancouver, Washington. The new library consists of approximately 90,000 square feet of space, with four floors and a mezzanine.

The new building is part of a mixed-use private development occupying nearly four acres in downtown Vancouver. The plan includes a civic plaza, retail space, hotel, condominium tower, and office space on top of an underground parking garage.

The site was particularly challenging due to coordination of construction and close proximity to other planned projects. The area did not allow for any lay down or staging space, so all construction materials followed a “just in time” delivery method. Additionally, deliveries were made during off-hours to avoid shutting down a main thoroughfare.
