When clients love what you do as much as you love what they do, it’s a natural response of “YES” when they ask you to travel to new lands with them.

This was the case with three separate clients and as a result, our Washington-based firm grew to support Silicon Valley, San Diego, and Los Angeles, California markets.

OAC expanded to Silicon Valley in 2014 then followed to San Diego and Los Angeles in 2018. Each office was started to serve current and new clients, set the foundation to build a team, and create a positive impact in the new region. Breaking into a new market is no easy feat but Anthony Comelo, Houman Nabavi, and Alex Hofto have led with purpose and passion to grow OAC as not just another CM & FAE firm but as a contributor to the community. The three offices have each developed a team that loves a challenge and goes the extra mile to serve a client.

A fundamental core of OAC is our genuine love for our communities. Just like all our office locations, our CA teams wholeheartedly “give back” by yearly volunteering, fundraising, and donating to causes that hit home for our local homes. Our San Diego office sponsored a table at the #Pride Mixer hosted by the Equality Business Alliance during San Diego PRIDE, donated to the San Diego LGBT Community Center, and attended multiple other events to show our continued love and support for the LGBTQ community. They also collected books and supplies for San Diego schools, rolled up their sleeves to help sort, organize and clean at the food banks, and fundraise for our furry friends at the FACE Foundation and San Diego Humane Society. Our Silicon Valley team partnered with Rudolph & Sletten, WRNS Studio, and Vanir to support a family on Rebuilding Together’s Rebuilding Day. In addition to sponsoring the Rebuilding Day, our team used their construction expertise to rebuild a fence, paint the entire exterior of the house, install new smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, replace bathroom equipment, replace two sets of stairs, landscape, and clean the deck for a local 88-year-old veteran and his wife.

In the few years we have been in California our three teams have worked on over 75 projects for 12 private clients in 15 cities that total over $1Billion. These projects have been in the life science, high tech, commercial, and hospitality industries. The wide range of projects has included a 650,000 SF tech giant’s campus refresh that is aiming to achieve LEED Platinum, data centers, LEAN modular hotels, commercial tenant improvements, and over a 725,000 square feet of complex life science laboratories. These projects will house scientific and technological discoveries that will change the world and save lives.

As we continue to expand our network, our passionate teams of talented construction professionals aim to deliver high-quality construction management and building science services to make a positive impact on our communities; making better happen, west coast-style.
