Our engineers and architects are here to evaluate and fix structures when they fail—and to prevent failures before they happen.

Forensic Architecture & Engineering

When building systems fail or don’t perform properly, our team of Forensic Architecture and Engineering (FAE) specialists is here to help. Consisting of structural and forensic engineers, architects, building enclosure specialists, and registered roofing consultants, our FAE team offers a broad range of services, including investigation, repair design, condition, and risk assessment. We also provide expert witness consulting services for construction defect and large-loss insurance claims.

Structural Engineering

OAC’s structural engineers specialize in the evaluation and repair of existing structures. Drawing on years of experience investigating buildings, assessing damage, and analyzing failures as part of our Forensic Architecture and Engineering services, our engineers have taken apart, rebuilt and repaired structures of all kinds—steel-framed domes, multi-story commercial buildings, concrete parking structures, plazas, and even turn-of-the century timber structures. Whether you need to target a specific issue or to assess overall structural integrity, our engineers will ensure that your building is safe and sound.

Building Enclosure

Our building enclosure team specializes in keeping buildings safe from moisture and providing sound, reliable solutions to prevent water intrusion. We help clients design and construct effective, secure, and sustainable building enclosures—for existing structures or new construction. Our team designs project-specific, readily constructible details in-house, maintaining the weather-resistive integrity of your project while preserving building aesthetics.

Resiliency

OAC is here to help your buildings withstand the elements. With backgrounds in forensic investigation and condition assessment, combined with structural design experience, our teams provide sound evaluations and upgrade scenarios—making sure your investment is safe from seismic events and anything else Mother Nature might have in store.

Building Envelope Commissioning

OAC’s Building Sciences Group has unmatched forensic architecture investigation, building envelope design, and construction observation experience that inform our approach to Building Envelope Commissioning.Through proactive participation, clear communication, forward-thinking solutions, and adherence to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) guidelines, we guide the commissioning team to a better performing building enclosure system.

“Our team has found it very easy to work seamlessly with OAC’s team, aligning skill sets of individuals and corporate resources to work as ONE team to support a district’s highest needs.”
