Design-Build advisor for campus replacement and additions
The Jefferson Healthcare South Campus Replacement and Addition Project is comprised of approximately 56,000 square feet of new and replacement facilities on the main Jefferson Healthcare campus in Port Townsend. Replacing the building’s 1965 wing, updates include a new kitchen and dining space, 2 OR surgery suites, a radiation oncology department with a linear accelerator, a specialty clinic near the surgery center on the first floor, and 40 clinic exam rooms on the second floor.
OAC has been engaged to support the Jefferson team in delivering the project using Progressive Design-Build (PDB), providing Design-Build advisory and project management services from planning through implementation and project closeout. OAC acted as the Design-Build advisor on this project leading the team through the PRC process, including application development, editing, and finalization, authoring the PRC presentation, and coaching the team for the meeting, where approval was granted. OAC also led the curation of the PDB procurement process, ensuring all RCW requirements were met.
To best meet the client and project’s needs, we refined parts of the process that were flexible. We defined evaluation criteria that specifically addressed the unique challenges of the project, such as helping to define multiple project scopes and budgets to inform grant and bond procurement to fund a portion of the project. OAC will continue to support Jefferson Healthcare on this project through design and construction in a project management role for the project’s duration.
